Paper Coach

Learn to draw, one line at a time

Paper Coach shows you each line of a drawing, then waits while you draw it on real paper. Step by step, the picture appears in your own hand. For kids and grown-ups who say they can’t draw.

How it works

  1. Watch a line. Lina draws one line on the screen, slowly, so you see where it starts, where it goes and where it stops.
  2. Draw it on paper. Copy it onto your page with a pencil or a pen, then tap “I drew it”. Nothing moves on until you do.
  3. Finish a picture. A few minutes later the whole drawing is on your paper. Keep a photo of it in your sketchbook.

Questions

What is Paper Coach?

An iPhone and iPad app that teaches drawing step by step, on real paper. Lina, the coach, draws one line on the screen and waits while you draw it on your page. There are 120 lessons on 12 paths, from a pine tree to a race car, and whole scenes drawn in short chapters.

Who is it for?

Anyone who says they can’t draw: kids from about six, teens and grown-ups. The first lessons of every path are simple, and the later ones build on them.

Do I need a tablet or a stylus?

No. You draw with a pencil or a pen on paper. The phone or iPad only shows you the next line.

Is it free?

It is free to download. The first three lessons of every path, one scene on every path and the drawing of the day are free. Premium opens every lesson, by the week, by the year, or with one Lifetime payment.

How long does a lesson take?

Most take five to ten minutes, and each one ends with a finished drawing on your paper.
